About this test

The typing test measures your speed and accuracy in words per minute (WPM) — how fast you turn thought into text without errors. Typing is a background skill in nearly every screen-based job, and small gains compound over a day of writing.

Cognitive domain: Processing Speed

How it works

A sentence appears and you type it exactly. Correct characters are highlighted as you go, mistakes are marked, and your net WPM — speed adjusted for accuracy — is scored the moment you finish the sentence.

Reading your score

WPM counts one “word” as five characters. MindSprint’s scale reaches about 120 WPM; most adults type well below that, and because the score is net WPM, uncorrected errors pull it down. Accuracy and speed are scored together on purpose.

Tips to improve
FAQ
What is a good typing speed?
Comfortable everyday typists sit around 40–60 WPM; 100+ is genuinely fast.
Does accuracy matter or only speed?
Both — net WPM penalizes errors, so clean typing scores higher than fast-but-sloppy.
What is the best way to improve?
Touch typing plus regular short practice sessions.
