Concentration Game

Flip two cards to find matching pairs

About this test

Pair Up is the classic concentration (memory match) game, a widely used test of visual-spatial associative memory. Cards lie face down; you flip two at a time to find matching pairs, remembering where each symbol was. It draws on the same location-binding memory studied in paired-associate learning tasks like the CANTAB battery.

Cognitive domain: Spatial Memory

How it works

Tap a card to flip it, then a second. If they match, they stay revealed; if not, they flip back — so remember what you saw and where. Clear the whole board and a fresh one is dealt. Match as many pairs as you can in 60 seconds.

Reading your score

Your score is how many pairs you clear in 60 seconds. On the MindSprint scale, around 14 is top-tier. Fewer wasted flips means a higher score — it rewards remembering locations rather than guessing.

Tips to improve
FAQ
What does memory match test?
Visual-spatial associative memory — binding a symbol to its location and recalling it.
Is it just for kids?
No — concentration-style tasks are used in cognitive research and clinical memory testing too.
How do I improve?
Map the board early, verbalize locations, and clear pairs as soon as you know them.
